What should I wear to my first class?

Dress in comfortable athletic clothes and shoes. Pilates is a full body workout so you’ll want to wear something that gives you full range of motion.


Will pilates help me lose weight?

Like any workout, it requires dedication. Pilates is not a quick fix but a great way to practice healthy fitness and discipline. Pilates is famous for creating long, lean, fit bodies. It can support a weight loss regimen by burning calories, focusing on toning muscles, and improving posture.


How is pilates different from other forms of exercise?

Pilates is different because it is non-impact and safe - it focuses on using the whole body. You will often find yourself on your back, on your side, or kneeling on the floor. Pilates work is very even and symmetrical on your body, making sure one side is not working harder than the other.


Is pilates a cardio workout?

Pilates starts off slow and as the workout increases, it becomes aerobic. You can get a cardiovascular workout when you're on the equipment and working on an advanced level because it's more physical.
