Meet our Instructors and Trainers

Shelagh Burke

Shelagh believes passionately in the physical, spiritual and mental benefits of yoga. She feels honored to be able to share her experience and guide students as they explore their own mind, body breath connection. 


Shelagh, 200-hour RYT, first became certified to teach yoga in 2010 and has subsequently done training in Yoga Sculpt and Hot Fusion. 


She lives in Mendota Heights with her husband and is the mother of four grown children. 

Kammi Debes

The physical aspect of yoga initially drew Kammi to her mat but soon yoga began to change her views on wellness and mindfulness. In 2010 she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. In addition to teaching yoga Kammi is also certified to teach Barre.


Welcoming of all levels and abilities; in her classes you will often be physically challenged to create space for mindfulness to occur. She also focuses on breathing through the challenges, so we can learn to breathe through the challenges of life. 


When not teaching Kammi loves tennis, running, biking and hiking as well as spending time with her family and traveling. 


In addition to teaching, Kammi is also the Customer Service Manager at DYF 

Lori Dufresne

Lori will become a Pilates Method Alliance comprehensive certified Pilates Instructor in 2018 and is a shiatsu massage therapist. Her holistic view of health influences her teaching. 


Her focus is on improved posture, building strength, and the mobility and stability of joints. 


Lori teaches stretch and reformer classes and she enjoys thinking of everyday ways to promote health for herself and her clients.

Michelle Finley

Body awareness is what drives Michele’s personal practice. After many years of trying to get it, she finally discovered breath controlled movement from a connected core and was hooked!  Assisting you to experience whole body connection, expansive breath and joy in movement are her main intentions as your instructor. 


Her down-to-earth, calm instruction is ideal for beginners as well as advanced students seeking to deepen their practice. She is a comprehensively trained PMA-CPT. 


In addition to private and semi-private training, Michele also teaches mat, equipment and monthly Fundamentals classes. 

Kim Harbinson

Kim rediscovered her love for fitness and personal wellness after a ‘far-too-long’ hiatus. As part of her journey, she became a Certified Spin Instructor and now leads others on their own journeys. 


Kim is also CPR certified and teaches Spin and Strength. She enjoys teaching, building playlists, and cycling with some pretty darn amazing clients! 

Ann Hobbie

Ann is, in all parts of her world, a teacher. She has taught both elementary age students and adults. One who enjoys people, above all else, Ann finds working with clients to achieve their fitness goals very rewarding. 


As an ACE certified Personal Trainer, Ann is available for private and semi-private sessions. She also teaches group fitness including Spin, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT and Tabata), Barre and youth fitness classes. 


In her spare time, she is an enthusiastic cyclist, runner, gardener, baker and mother of two.

Paige Jahnke

Paige is a coach, teacher and athlete. She started practicing Pilates  once her career hockey ended and immediately fell in love with it. What she finds most rewarding is being able to inspire, encourage and help others improve their livelihood through fitness. 


Paige is a NETAFIT certified group fitness instructor and is currently completing the Pilates Certification program at Defining You. She teaches Pilates Reformer and Mat Pilates classes. 


In her spare time she enjoys playing hockey, practicing Pilates, finding her zen at yoga, running, coaching and traveling with friends.

Ebony Kargbo

Ebony has a degree in Exercise Science. She enjoys learning about the positive outcomes of health, wellness, and fitness. 


In addition to teaching Power Barre, Ebony is also the Business Operations Manager at DYF 

Molly McAvoy

Molly has experienced firsthand the benefits of Pilates and functional training in preventing injury and improving performance.  She challenges clients at all levels to help them feel stronger, more balanced, and more connected to their bodies. 


Molly teaches Pilates mat, reformer, Pilates for athletes, senior strength, and cardio sculpt. She also provides private and semi-private Pilates and Functional training, as well as individual coaching for specific athletic events.  She loves to run, ride, ski and get outside with her family.


Molly is a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) comprehensively certified Pilates Teacher and NASM certified Personal Trainer. 

Peggy Morgan

Peggy is a certified barre instructor with experience in classical ballet, jazz, and tap dancer. She is a member of the Royal Academy of Dance and in her earlier years was an active competitor, performer, and member of a dance company.


As the only classically trained instructor, Peggy's Balley Barre classes use rigorous ballet-inspired moves to build muscle, posture, and endurance. Her classes are set to an upbeat tempo for a fun full-body workout.


Outside of the studio, Peggy is the COO for a college textbook publishing company and is married with three children.

Lindsay Norton

Lindsay began spinning over 9 years ago. She fell in love with the concept of being in a group environment, but having control over her own ride. 


After becoming a certified Spin Instructor in 2016, she now shares her love of spinning with others. 


Lindsay is also an ACE certified Group Instructor and currently teaches Spin, Spin & Strength, and Barre.

Melanie Nugent-Riess

Melanie’s passion in helping others is what lead her into the teaching world. After a degree in Kinesiology and Coaching minor, she spent time as a personal trainer and volleyball coach. 


It wasn’t until she became a Yoga Instructor in 2009 that she realized it was so much more than the “work out” or “sport”. Melanie puts a lot of thought & care in every class she guides. Her goal is to teach a challenging yet mindful class that makes you sweat your soul. 


When not on her mat, she runs her own massage and skin care business while trying to keep up with her two children.

Olivia Ritchie

Olivia is a senior at the University of St. Thomas with plans to continue on to Physical Therapy school. Her love for pilates began in her hometown near Milwaukee and, when she returned to school in St. Paul, she found DYF. 


She started our Pilates Method Alliance Instructor training in March of 2017 and will finish her training in March 2018. Olivia teaches Pilates Reformer and Mat Pilates classes.

Gerae Stack

Gerae was born and raised in MN. She first started her yoga journey as a track athlete and dance student at the Minnesota State University, Mankato. After practicing for a few years she took her first yoga course, Yoga for the Special Child™ with Sonia Sumar. Two years later she continued her education and took her 200 hour Hatha yoga teacher training. 


In addition to teaching yoga and barre, Gerae works at a Minneapolis Public School with some wonderful kids. Gerae is a lover of life and is always down for a rad adventure 

Libby Weibel

Libby became passionate about teaching Group Fitness after some amazing instructors and classes helped her on her own weight loss journey. 


She has been teaching for over 10 years, and loves to help others discover the potential of what their bodies can do! 


Along the way Libby completed her Yoga 200 hour teacher training, as well as certifications in Spinning, Personal Training, Strength, TRX, and Barre.
